Christmas was very busy this year with the play for the two older girls and the moving for the family. Add to that some repair work in the house and we had trouble getting in the Christmas spirit until about the 15th of December!
We had a wonderful Christmas once we settled in. As usual, we set up our designer tree made even more special this year since Georgia, the original owner of the tree, died this year after a long battle with colo-rectal cancer.
My village has grown so much that we've had to buy two six-foot tables to house them on! (Speaking of village, I got many new pieces this year and love them all! I also got some pieces for my large set, including one from Matthew straight from Germany!)
Our Christmas tree was a bit different this year. We typically get a white pine, but the droughts over the past couple of summers meant that there were no big trees to be had. So, we went with a frazier fir. It turned out to be quite beautiful!
Keith's sister, Betty Ann, came by about 10 days before Christmas. She was helping us pick a light fixture for our dining room. She was our first official Christmas visitor!
Christmas morning was full of fun and surprises. We ate a huge breakfast and got to talk with Matthew on the phone for over an hour! That afternoon, Keith took me to the Pinehurst Hotel for their incredible Christmas buffet. I ate food that I couldn't pronounce - and you should have seen the dessert tables!
Christmas evening we got to spend some wonderful time with Kyle, Faith, Gena, and Jaxson. It was fun being with them and made Christmas even more special.
And finally, on Sunday, we got to spend some time with Kim. We were very happy that she could come by and be part of our Christmas cheer.
